George Nick Hanzel

Lorain- George Nick Hanzel, born December 25, 1944 passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Cleveland Clinic Health Campus in Cleveland following a long illness.

 

George served in the United States Army from 1963-1966.  He was stationed in Germany and served as a mechanic.George enjoyed his boat, fishing, working on all kinds of projects but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

 

He is survived by three brothers, Melvin, Nick and Metro Hanzel all of Ohio; four sons, Michael Hanzel of Elyria, Frank Hanzel of Cleveland, Brian Hanzel of Lorain and George Jr. of Lorain; two daughters, Mandy Hanzel of South Carolina and Tina (John) Skarzynski of Lorain; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Stella Hanzel; and brother, Joseph Hanzel.

 

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 5-8 PM.
