Irene B. Castle-Missal

Lorain - Irene B. Castle-Missal, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home in Lorain, OH.

Irene was born in Cleveland, OH on December 18, 1945 to her parents, Frank and Wilma (nee: Von Benken) Castle.

She graduated from St. Timothy Catholic School in Garfield Heights, Notre Dame Academy in Cleveland and Irene earned her Associate Degree from Dyke College in Cleveland.

Irene was an active member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain serving as Eucharistic Minister and a member of St. Francis Mission Group. She was a past member of St. Raphael's in Bay Village volunteering with PSR.  She also volunteered with the Bay Village Pre-School PTA and was a Pocket Lady at Bay Days.  Irene worked for many years at J.C. Penney in the cosmetic department.  She was a paraoptometric at LensCrafters and a receptionist at United Optical where she retired.  She was always willing to help her family, friends, neighbors and anyone in need with her smile, prayers and caring.  Her pride and joy was her children and grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.

She is survived by her son Kevin (Patty) Missal; daughter, Michelle Marashi; grandsons, Dylan Missal and Max Marashi; and her best-friend, Kathleen Kurucz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank R. and Wilma N. Castle.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH from 11:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, officiating. Christian entombment services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
