Mary T. (Olejko) Poprock

Mary T. (nee Olejko) Poprock, 89, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

She was born in Lorain, OH on August 8, 1928 to her parents, Blazej and Stella (nee Ginalski) Olejko.

Mary graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1947. She married her beloved Edward P. Poprock on June 7, 1950. She was a homemaker for her family and she also worked for Rigbee Kiddie Land in Lorain. Mary was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and was a member of St. Peter’s St. Francis of Assisi Mission Group. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts for St. Peter’s annual parish festivals. Mary also enjoyed reading, praying, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of over 67 years, Edward P. Poprock; children, Eddy Poprock of Columbus and Judy (Emil) Feador of Strongsville; grandchildren, Rachel (Chris) Harper and Christopher Feador; sisters, Helen Chmielewski and Stella James; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Blazej and Stella Olejko; sisters, Bernice Sadowski, Josephine Schneider and Jennie Walend; brothers, Joseph, Frank, John, and Alex Olejko; and infant brother, Karolek.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
