William Argenti Obituary

William "Bill" Argenti, 89, of Lorain, OH, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Community in Lorain, OH. William was born on December 31, 1928 to Augusto and Grace Argenti in Palmer, PA.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Enis (nee Piccolomini) Argenti of Lorain; son, Gregory Argenti of Lorain; grandsons, Santino and Dominic (Caroline) Argenti; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill’s formal education ended in the 10th grade when he had to go to work to help support his family following the death of his father in a coal mining accident. Seargent William Argenti proudly served as a member of the 223rd Infantry Recon Company during the Korean War. After returning from Korea, Bill married the love of his life, Enis Piccolomini. He used benefits of the GI Bill to learn welding and auto body repair. In 1959, Bill moved his family to the “boom town” of Lorain, OH. Bill worked a variety of day jobs and at night he would do auto body work in the garage behind his house on E. 29th Street in South Lorain. In 1963, Bill rented a shop on Elyria Avenue and founded Argenti Auto Body. With only a 10th grade education, Bill taught himself the basics of business necessary to achieve success. The business Bill started is now in it’s 56th year. Bill was a man of simple pleasures. He was happiest with family and close friends. Bill was generous with his time. He served as Grand Knight of Council 637, Knights of Columbus in Lorain for 20 years. He enjoyed golfing with friends, and fishing, though he rarely caught anything. Bill was a talented stain glass artist creating many beautiful projects, which he gave to family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augusto and Grace Argenti; and his sisters, Frances, Nellie and Sarah; and brothers, Peter, Ben and Tony.
