Aaron Slaby Sr. Obituary

Aaron E. Slaby Sr.

Sandusky-Aaron E. Slaby Sr., 50, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 22, 2024 in Sheffield Township, OH.

Aaron was born to his loving parents, Ralph C. Slaby and Lisa D. (nee Lough) Gibson, on August 29, 1973 in Lorain, OH. He was a graduate of Admiral King High School, Class of 1992. His post-graduate journey led him to a fulfilling career at Whirlpool, where he was a respected member of the assembly team in Clyde, OH. His colleagues will remember him not just for his skilled craftsmanship but also for his camaraderie and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Aaron's personal life was marked by a deep love for the Cleveland Browns. His passion for the game was infectious, and his unwavering support for the team was evident to all who joined him in cheering them on. His love of the Browns was matched only by his enthusiasm for Bike Week in Sandusky, where he reveled in the community and excitement of the annual event.

A man of diverse interests, Aaron dedicated time to staying fit through regular workouts, a testament to his discipline and commitment to wellbeing. His hands were skilled not only in his professional work but also in the art of woodworking, where he created beautiful pieces that were both functional and artistic.

Aaron very much loved and was so proud of the two boys he shared with the mother of his children, Lisa (nee Rogers) Slaby.  Later in life he met & married Karen (nee Whaley) Slaby, celebrating a St. Patrick’s Day wedding on March 17, 2014, in remembrance of the day they first met. Though their time together as husband and wife was short, the bond they shared was deep and filled with love.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald “DJ” J. Gibson.

Aaron will be remembered by his wife of 10 years, Karen Slaby; children, Aaron (Yolanda) Slaby Jr. and Andrew Slaby; step-children, Laurie (Adam) Meyers, Ashley (Brian) Wilson, and Daren (Brenda) Warner; mother, Lisa Gibson; father, Ralph Slaby; sister, Julie Morgenstein; grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052 on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 5:00PM. Online condolences may be sent to the family using www.rsgfuneralhome.com.
