Linda Jean Ritenour

Linda Jean (nee Prinkey) Ritenour, 75, of Sheffield Township passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Linda was born on January 13, 1949 in Normalville, PA. She married the love of her life, Earnest Ritenour, and together they shared a marriage for 56 years until his passing in 2020. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church. She worked at Clearview Schools and was a member of the Church of God in Medina, OH.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred (nee Housel) Prinkey; loving husband, Earnest William Ritenour; sisters, Ruth Frederick and Janet Marie Nicholson; brothers, Chester O’Donald (Julia) Prinkey, James Pirl, Charles Pirl, Joseph Ray Pirl; a very special brother in law and sister in law, Eugene (Mary) Ritenour; sister in laws, Etta (Carl) Hall and Luella (Leroy) Nicholson.

Linda is survived by her children, Earnest William “Mark” (Tracy) Ritenour III, Crystal Dawn (Vincent) Fries, and Theresa Miller; grandchildren, Cody Ritenour, Vincent Fries Jr., Samantha Ritenour, and Dawson Fries; sisters, Dorothy Ellen (Reid-deceased) Ritenour, Margaret Malinda (Leroy-deceased) Mitchel, Helen Elizabeth (Kenneth) May; brother, Wilbert Wesley Lee (Candi) Pirl; sister in laws, Ida (Dwayne) Nicholson and Pamela Pirl; and many nieces and nephews. 

Linda’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Ave. Lorain, OH on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM, Brother Daniel Webster officiating. Christian Burial will immediately follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, OH. A luncheon will follow in Grafton.
