Ann (Timura) Jama

Lorain – Ann (nee Timura) Jama, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at her home in Lorain, OH with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Simpson, PA on September 19, 1921 to her loving parents, Adam and Florence Timure.

Following High School graduation, Ann married Alex Jama on January 20, 1939. They moved to Lorain, OH in 1940 and started their life and family together. She was a member of Sts Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church in Lorain, OH. Ann worked in retail for most of her life before moving to Venice, FL in 1985 with her husband and she returned in 2015 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Norm) Porostovsky of Lorain, OH, Sandra (Michael) Mishak of Lorain, OH, and Barbara (Sam) Miller of Greenwood, SC; sister, Helen Keklak; grandchildren, Shelly, Gayle, and Nancy: Mark, Christine, and Brian: and Meredeth and Robert; twenty great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years of marriage, Alex Jama; grandson, Robert Nuhn; sister, Mary Bertucelli; and brother, Peter Timura.

The family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the time of Parastas service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, 3056 Reeves Avenue, Lorain, OH, Fr. Paul Monkowski, officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, FL. Memorial donations may be made in Ann’s memory to Sts.
