Betty E. (Mesenger) Masley

Vermilion- Betty E. Masley, 81, passed away following a lengthy illness on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Amherst Manor Retirement Community in Amherst, OH.

She was born in Lorain, OH on June 25, 1935 to her loving parents, Floyd and Freda Mesenger. Betty graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1952. She married her beloved, Robert J. Masley on September 21, 1955 and they raised their two loving children, Karen and Robert Jr. Betty was a proud wife, mother and homemaker for her family. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years of marriage, Robert J. Masley Sr.; children, Karen (Jim) Elwell and Robert J. Masley Jr.; sister, Carol (Manuel) Hackney; brother, Floyd “Gene” (Jane) Mesenger; grandchildren, James (Kellen) Elwell Jr. and Erica (Greg) Stallings; 3 great-grandchildren; and loving nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Freida (nee: Hoff) Mesenger; and sister, Ruth Smith.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
