He continued his education at Youngstown State University graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He then furthered his schooling at The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in May 1978. He served his one year residency at The James Giuffre’ Medical Center in Philadelphia from May 1978 until May 1979.

He then moved to Lorain in 1979 and shortly after he began his practice, Dr. Daniel C. Duffy, DPM INC. where he served his community for 38 years until his retirement in 2016.

Daniel was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain. He enjoyed traveling, casinos, and golfing. But most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

He also ran the No Nonsense Seminar as educational chairman for 30 years. It is the largest Podiatric seminar in Ohio and one of the 5th largest Podiatric programs in the U.S.

He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years of marriage, Mary Jo (Montalto) Duffy of Lorain; daughters, Kathryn Duffy of Lorain, Shaina (Adrian) Duffy-Vazzano of Fairview Park, and Christen Duffy of Lorain; step-sons, Joseph (Elizabeth) Perez of Flower Mound, TX and Charles Perez of Lorain; four grandchildren, Cameron Garcia and Anthony, Andrew and Natalia Walker; and three step-granddaughters, Cassie and Carlyn Perez, and Jenna Schneider.

The family of Dan and Mary Jo wish to thank his care giver Patricia Elliott who made his life as comfortable as possible during his last months; Loyal office employees, Jamie Czompoly and Anita Martinez for their commitment and support. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Arnold Milner and Johh Maar who stayed by his side for hours to comfort him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold P. and Maple Duffy; sister, Mary Thomas; nephew, Danny Thomas; ex-wife, Sharon Duffy; and his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Marie Montalto.
