Danny L. Parsons

Sheffield Twp. - Danny L. Parsons Sr., A.K.A. Poppy, 67, went to his home in heaven on May 9, 2017 following a lengthy illness. Danny was born to his loving parents, Kathleen and Ernest Parsons, on August 15, 1949. He grew up with five sisters and five brothers in Chapmanville, WV. He graduated from Chapmanville High School, where he was a football star.

After graduation, Danny moved to Lorain, OH where he began working for the Lorain Ford Plant in 1969 and retired in 1999. Following retirement from Ford, he worked at Ridge Hill Memorial Park until 2016.

In 1971, he married Lucinda (nee Bandagski). Danny made it his mission in life to care for his family, which he excelled at. They had three children, Danny Jr.(Elizabeth), Chad (Michelle), and Leanne (Jeremy) Jordan. Danny adored his seven grandchildren, Jonah, Noah, Ben, Hailey, Chloe, Hannah and Harper who brought him much joy. He helped raise a nephew, Joshua Dotson, and many other beloved nieces and nephews.

Danny enjoyed gardening, classic cars, Cleveland and high school sports. He was a member of UAW Local 425, Bethel Chapel where he taught Sunday school for many years and he also attended Divine Destiny Church in Elyria.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Sprenger Hospice for their compassion and support. Danny will be truly missed by his family who loved and adored him.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the time of closing prayer and remembrance service at 7:45 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Bethel Chapel, 4065 Broadway, Lorain, OH with Rev. Danny Parsons Jr. and Pastor Lorri Bandagski officiating.
