David Albert Hunter, 79, of Avon Lake, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Amherst Manor in Amherst, OH, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born on July 10, 1938 in Cleveland, OH. He grew up in the Mentor area and he later moved to Avon Lake, OH. David graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor and Masters Degree. He married Renata A. “Renee” on May 2, 1981. David served in the National Guard from 1961 until 1967. He worked at Sears, he was a teacher, and he worked for the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. David was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Avon Lake, OH. He enjoyed golfing, football, track, traveling, parks, architecture, geography, weather, astronomy, history, archeology, current events, and dancing.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years of marriage, Renata A. “Renee” Hunter of Avon Lake, OH; son, Thomas David Hunter of Avon Lake, OH; and daughter, Alice Adelia (Jesse Morgan) Kleis of Orange County, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Charles and Alice Mildred (nee Dickerson) Hunter.
Private Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH, Fr. Dan Fickes of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Avon Lake, OH, officiating. Funeral services and arrangements by Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961.
