Freddy Benejan-Ramirez

Lorain - Freddy Benejan-Ramirez, age 68, died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Lorain.

He was born on July 13, 1948 in Puerto Rico. Freddy graduated from Clinton High School in New York. He proudly entered into the U.S. Marine Corps on August 30, 1965 and was honorably discharged on June 2, 1967. Freddy was a parishioner at St. Peter Parish, Lorain. He was very giving and would help out anybody that would ask.

He is survived by his wife, Iris Benejan  (nee: Gomez) of 35 years; daughters, Madeline Fernandez of New York, Teja Lynn Vazquez-Benejan of Lorain, Damaris Michelle Santiago of Lorain, and Veronica Garcia of Lorain; sons, Robert Benejan of New York, and Hiram Santiago of Lorain; 5 sisters; 5 brothers; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Severiano Benejan and Hortencia Ramirez; and 1 sister

Friends may call from 3:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2150 Broadway Ave., Lorain, 440-244-1961. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, OH, Fr. Gerald Keller, officiating.
