Joseph C. Trifiletti

Lorain- Joseph Carmelo Trifiletti, 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 08, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, OH.

He was born in Lorain, OH on October 15, 1927 and he graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1945-B. Following graduation, Joseph served in the US Army during the Korean War and he was honorably discharged in 1952. Joe married Dolores (nee: Krek) on May 25, 1963. He worked for the City of Lorain as superintendent of the parks for 40 years. Joseph was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and enjoyed dancing, singing and volunteering with the Black River Historical Society.

He is survived by his loving sons, Joseph and James Trifiletti; cherished grandsons, Michael, Joseph and Christopher Trifiletti; brother, Thomas Trifiletti; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years of marriage, Dolores (nee: Krek) Trifiletti, parents, Carmelo and Josephine (nee: Panuzzo) Trifiletti, brother, Paul V. Trifiletti in 2011 and nephew Carl P. Trifiletti in 2012.

The family will receive friends at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, OH on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, with Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH with military honors by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
