Lorain – Leo DiRenzo, 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home.
He was born on April 16, 1924 in Chicago, IL to his parents, Leo and Margaret (nee Mone) DiRenzo.
Leo married his beloved Rose (Vitelli) on September 24, 1949 and they were married for 68 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in Germany in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for the City of Lorain in the Sewage Treatment Plant. He was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain. He enjoyed watching war movies, attending musicals, gardening and yard work, watching July 4th fireworks and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Jeanette Ezso; grandson, Joe (Amanda) Ezso; great-granddaughter, Faith Rose Elizabeth Ezso; brother, Appe (Janet) DiRenzo; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose DiRenzo in 2017; parents, Leo and Margaret DiRenzo; and eight siblings.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10:30 AM until closing prayers at 12:30 PM. Christian entombment services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH where military honors will be performed by AMVETS POST 32. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Leo’s memory to a charity of donor’s choice.
