Lorain - Mary D. Warner (nee Price), 101, after a short illness, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, OH.

Mary was born in Lorain, OH on August 23, 1916 to her parents, James and Oliva (nee Theobald) Price.  After living in, and around, Cleveland and the suburbs of Boston, she returned with her family to Lorain in 1959.

Mary graduated high school from St Mary Academy in 1934. A lifelong learner, she graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Education. Mary taught kindergarten at St. Anthony of Padua School in Lorain from 1967-1974 and she was a substitute teacher for Oberlin City Schools. During WWII, Mary worked for NACA as a purchasing agent. Mary was extremely active in many social and civic clubs, among them, AAUW Lakeland Women's Club and investment club. Until she was 97, Mary enjoyed playing Bridge.  Mary travelled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Russia. Her last trip was to Greece at age 84.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne (Jeffrey) Toothaker; her sons, Seth, Paul, and James Warner; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many loving and attentive nieces and nephews; and a large extended family of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Oliva Price; husband, Robert C. Warner; her sisters, Regina Buse, Clare Burgett; her brothers, James and John Price.

The family will receive family and friends at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Private Christian burial services will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH. Memorial donations may be made in Mary’s memory to Poor Clare Sisters, 3501 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH 44111.
