Rita D. Critell

Rita D. (nee: Scillia) Critell, 92, of Lorain, OH was welcomed by our dear lord into eternal life on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.

She was born on May 18, 1920 in Masontown, PA to her loving parents, Giuseppe and Carmela Scillia and moved to Lorain, OH as a child and resided the rest of her life there.

Rita was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was married on June 6, 1951 to her loving husband, Jack N. Critell and they raised four children together. Rita loved to spend time with her family and she had a passion for her cooking and baking, especially during the holidays.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Critelli and Robert Critell both of Lorain; daughters, Marie Taylor of Lorain and Rita Williams of Texas City, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack N. Critell; grandson, Danny Critelli; and sister, Rose M. Varady.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 East Erie Ave., Lorain, Fr. Richard E. Hudak, Pastor, officiating.
