Robert J. Catalano

Lorain- Robert "Bob" Catalano, 73, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 12, 2016.

He was born in Lorain, OH on March 8, 1943 to his loving parents, Angelo and Elizabeth (nee: Balko) Catalano.

Bob resided all of his life in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1961. He owned and operated The Corner Restaurant and Lounge from 1985 until retirement in 2000. He took pride in his work and strived to offer a place, "Where Friends Meet Friends". The Corner was famous for their annual 50's and 60's parties. Bob was a member of the Lorain Elks Lodge 1301 for 52 years. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, enjoying watching the games and discussions with friends about his Browns team. He enjoyed spending time at his family cabin on Pelee Island, fishing, golfing and most of all spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving children, Chris (Tammy) Catalano of Arizona, Michael Catalano of Lorain, and Carrie Catalano of Arizona; grandchildren, Angelo, Isabella, and Owen Catalano; and sister, Loralee Cooke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Elizabeth.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 3:30 - 6:30 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 PM. Private burial services will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
