Robert J. Masley

Vermilion- Robert J. Masley Sr., 82, passed away following a lengthy illness on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Amherst Manor Retirement Community in Amherst, OH.

He was born in Lorain, OH on September 6, 1935, son of John and Mary (nee: Kuzma) Masley.

Robert graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1953. Robert then served in the Naval Reserves for eight years while he began his construction career as a general contractor building homes in Lorain County and surrounding areas for forty two years.  He married his beloved, Betty (nee: Mesenger) on September 21, 1955 and they raised their two loving children, Karen and Robert Jr. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by his loving children, Karen (Jim) Elwell and Robert J. Masley Jr.; brother, Edward Masley; grandchildren, James (Kellen) Elwell Jr. and Erica (Greg) Stallings; 3 great-grandchildren; and loving nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years of marriage, Betty E. Masley; parents, John and Mary Masley; and many loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Panachida service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00AM on Friday, January 19, 2018, The Very Reverend Nicholas R.A. Rachford, J.C.L., Pastor, will officiate. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
