Lorain - Thomas "Tom" Blakley, 72, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Struthers, OH on January 14, 1947 and moved to Lorain as a young boy where he resided.
Tom graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Elyria where he volunteered as Youth Athletic Director for 20 years. Tom worked in purchasing for 44 years at USS Steel and 6 years at PC Campana. He enjoyed drag racing, softball, bowling and coaching his daughter’s basketball team.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years of marriage, Cindy Blakley; daughters, Kelly Gusky and Katie (Steven) Figueroa; grandchildren, Gracie, Sophia and Vinny Figueroa; and sister, Joni Molinari.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam T. and Rita E. (nee Smith) Blakley; son-in-law, Christopher J. Gusky; sister, Barbara Palermo; brother, Gary Blakley; and grandsons, Luca and Blake Gusky.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH (meet at church on Monday).
