Velma J. (Stacy) Quickle

Lorain – Velma Quickle (nee Stacy), 94, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, OH.

Velma was born in Quiteman, AR on May 27, 1923. She graduated from Rosebud High School in Rosebud, Arkansas. She was a member of Lorain Baptist Church in Lorain. Velma enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and daily bible reading.

She is survived by her son, Stacy (Cheryl) Quickle of Irvine, CA; daughter, Juanita (Paul) Miller of Lorain, OH; sister, Buena Floy Stracener; grandchildren, Richard Lee, Karl Quickle, Joseph Quickle, Anthony Lee, Carrie Serina and Cynthia Miller; and many loving great and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clarence E. Quickle; parents, Ade Lee and Cinda Alice (nee Jackson) Stacy; daughter, Barbara Elain Lee; great grandson, William Quickle; and brothers, Cloy Lee, Charles Robert, Buelan Theo and Velton Adell Stacy.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Danny Parsons, officiating.
