Christine Elizabeth (Weber) Hochevar

Christine E. “Chris” Hochevar, 66, of Sheffield Lake, OH, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 23, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

Christine was born on May 7, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to her parents, Charles and Gladice (née Smalley) Weber. She was a 1972 graduate from Buchtel High School in Akron, OH and also attended Lorain High School. She continued her education at Akron University. Christine married her love, Richard “Rick” Hochevar on February 12, 1972. She was a homemaker, a book keeper for 5 years, and she was the President of PTO for Tennyson School. She enjoyed leading a couponing club and watching movies and T.V. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavs. Chris loved watching her sons’ baseball games in their youth and she especially cherished her time with her grandchildren.  Her grandchildren were everything to her. 

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard “Rick” Hochevar of Sheffield Lake, OH; sons, Brent (Lesley) Hochevar of Columbia Station, OH, Justin (Jenifer) Hochevar of North Ridgeville, OH, and Nick Hochevar of Sheffield Lake, OH; and grandchildren, Kailey and Connor Hochevar and Evan and Kellan Hochevar.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Hochevar; mother, Gladice Smalley-May; father, Charles Weber; brother, Richard “Dick” Bower Jr.; and brother, Boyd Weber.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 3:00 PM until the time of funeral services at 7:00 PM with Fr.
