Clara Lee (Yerico) Emerick

Clara Lee Emerick, 84, of St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Wakeman and Lorain, OH passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Riverside Cottages at the Shores in St. Augustine, Florida. Clara was born in Lorain on October 7, 1938 to the late, Anthony and Margaret (née McPhie) Yerico.

Clara graduated from Lorain High School in 1956. She worked at Lorain National Bank in Lorain. She moved with her family to Wakeman in 1972 where she worked at the Norwalk Bargain Center and The Stokley-Van Camp as a supervisor. She moved to St. Augustine in 1984, where she graduated from culinary school and worked as a chef at the Center for Living for 25 years. Clara was an avid slot player and loved going to Las Vegas, Biloxi, and New Orleans with her husband and siblings.  She loved to cook and spend time with her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family.

Clara is survived by her brother, Charles (Linda) Yerico; daughters, Barb Risner, Danielle (Buddy)Emerick, Michelle Marks, and Toni (Jeff) Couts; daughter in law, Pat Emerick; son, Scott (Sandy)Emerick; grandchildren, Anthony, Jennifer (Brian), Courtney, Taylor, and Valerie Emerick, Steve (Erica) and Jason Risner, Amanda and AriAnne Marks, Brittany (Ricky) Goolesby, and Jenna, Jessica, and Jason Holly; and great grandchildren, Daniel and Izik Chappel, Izzy and Joey Risner, Chase and Abigail Martin, Mallory Perkins, Hunter Emerick, Ava, Tyler, Logan, and Maddie Houser, Aviona Evans, Annabella and Atlas Robinson, and Zara Marks.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Daniel Emerick; parents, Anthony and Margaret Yerico; sisters, Margaret Gall and Ann Furci; son, Jeffery Emerick; grandson’s, Toby Houser and Mitchell Marks; and son in law, Ricky Lee Marks.

Clara’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
