Donald “Happy” Kiger

Donald “Happy” Kiger, 83, of Wakeman, OH, formally Lorain, OH, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 with his family at his side. He was born in Waynesburg, PA and entered the U.S. Marines right from High School. He served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and 2 years in the Reserve being released in 1962. He went on to work and retire from Reliance Electric where he was an electrician. Happy enjoyed his antique cars from a young age, from restoring to driving them. He continued with car rallies throughout his life, traveling in his cars to areas of the car shows across the U.S. Happy believed in driving his cars every chance he was given.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Kiger; daughter, Anna Marie “Peanuts” Stoppelbein of Florida; son, Don (Fay) Kiger of Lorain; sisters, Rosalee Kiger and Mary Lou Davis; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Happy was preceded in death by his late wife, Catherine (nee Curcillo) Kiger; parents, Ira and Louise Kiger; and siblings, Bud, Duane, Viola, and Suzy.

Donald’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM until the time of closing prayers at 7:00 PM.
