Dorothy A. Porostovsky
Elyria-Dorothy A. (Nee Jama) Porostovsky, 81, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.
Dorothy was born to her loving parents, Alexander and Ann (nee Timura) Jama in Scranton, PA on February 2, 1941. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1959A. She then went on to St. Joseph Practical School of Nursing, graduating in February of 1960. She was well known for her nut rolls, enjoyed playing poker, diamond paintings, and bible study.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Gayle (Allen) Kiser of Elyria, Michelle (Greg) Bufkin of California, and Nancy (Charles) Allison of Missouri; granddaughters, Jessica Allison and Sasha (Malik) Nuhn-Bensifi; sisters, Sandra (Michael) Mishak and Barbara (Samuel-deceased) Miller of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Norman J. Porostovsky; parents, Alexander and Ann Jama; and son, Robert Nuhn.
Christian burial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Rd., Amherst, OH, with Rev. Paul G. Monkowski, officiating (meet at main entrance of cemetery).
