Erlinda (nee Gutierrez) Ridenour

Erlinda Ridenour, 89, of Lorain, OH passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Mercy New Life Hospice.

Erlinda was born on August 22, 1933 to her parents, Viviano and Apolonia (nee Trujillo) Gutierrez in Lorain, OH where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1952 and married the love of her life, Richard Edward Ridenour, on August 7, 1954. She retired in 1993 from St. Joseph Hospital from their dietary department after 14 years of service. She was also a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Richard Ridenour; son, Ronald Ridenour; granddaughter, Nicole Ridenour; brothers, Ancelmo, Jesus, Santiago, and Joseph Gutierrez; and sister, Lucy Shaw.

Erlinda is survived by her sister, Mary (John) Simpson of Amherst, MA; sons, Richard of Fort Worth, TX and Raymond Ridenour of Lorain, OH; daughters, Colleen Ridenour of Lorain, Carolyn (Jawan) Robinson of Avon, Celinda (Mark) Notarberardino of Bay Village, and Catie (Jacob) Grasso of Amherst; grandchildren, Sarah, Richard, Adam, Ricky, Steven, Matthew, Nathan, Sam, Jacob, Tori, and Nia; sister-in-law, Charlene (Michael) Milovich of Grove City, and Rosemary (Joseph) Gutierrez; 5 great grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E Erie Ave., Fr. Edward J. Smith, Pastor, officiating.
