Lorain- Franklin DiFrancesco, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Lorain, OH.
Franklin was a lifelong resident of Lorain, OH where he was born on November 29, 1933 to his loving parents, Erminio and Rachel (nee: Paoloemilio) DiFrancesco.
He graduated from Lorain High School in 1950. Franklin married his beloved, Barbara A. (nee Ice) on April 4, 1959. He completed his Barber training following high school and worked as a Barber for several years. Later, Frank worked for FerroSlag and retired as a Bailiff for the Lorain County Common Pleas Court. He was a lifelong member and enjoyed attending Masses at St. Peter Parish in Lorain, OH. Frank enjoyed wine making, gardening, designing and building dollhouses, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving children, son, Dale (Linda) DiFrancesco; daughter, Chris Sedar; grandchildren, Emily, Nick (Vicky) and Katie (Christopher); great-grandchildren, Ian, Luke, Mitchell, Brayden, Kailey, Brantley and Paisley; sister, Delores Tompkins; sister-in-law, Terry DiFrancesco; and brother-in-law, John Hook; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years of marriage, Barbara A. (nee Ice) DiFrancesco in 2000; parents, Erminio and Rachel DiFrancesco; brothers, Arthur Steven (Viola) DiFrancesco, Angelo Marino (Marge) DiFrancesco, and Paul DiFrancesco; sisters, Christina (Matt) DelGrosso and Anita (George) Churpek-Hook; brother-in-law, Walter Tompkins.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM until closing prayers at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Peter Parish, Lorain, OH, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating (please meet at Church on Saturday). Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Masks and social distancing are required during all services.
