Gloria Marie (Zywotek) Smith

Gloria Marie (nee Zywotek) Smith, 79, passed away suddenly at her home in Lorain, OH on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Gloria was born to her loving parents, Steve and Viola (nee Zezula) Zywotek, on October 5, 1943. She graduated from Clearview High School, class of 1961. Gloria married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Smith, on October 27, 1962.  Among her many interests, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and her family pets.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Thomas) Smith-Stein of Avon and Laurie Smith of Lorain; brother, Dennis (Cathy) Zywotek; sister, Loretta (Patrick) McGannon; sister-in-law, Harriett “Dolly” Zywotek; grandchildren, Dalton and Madison Evans; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Viola Zywotek; her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert “Bob” Smith; and brother, Theodore “Ted” Zywotek.

Gloria’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Lorain, OH, (440) 244-1961 on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 10:00 AM, Pastor Chuck Behrens, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Lorain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria’s name to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
