Jaime "Papito" Sanchez Obituary

Jaime “Papito” Sanchez, 95, passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, February 16, 2024, at his home in Lorain, OH. Born on January 10, 1929, in the town of Utuado, Puerto Rico, Papito’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and dedication.

Papito’s journey led him to Lorain, where he made a profound impact on those around him. His commitment to family was unwavering, as seen in his loving marriage to Lilly Sanchez, which began on November 17, 1956. Together, they built a life filled with mutual respect, joy, and enduring companionship. He enjoyed tending to the garden with his wife and lovingly helped her with her various cooking projects. He was a devoted family man, who adored his wife and children with unconditional love and dedication.

He was a longtime member of TDR Ministries. Throughout his remarkable life, Papito was the embodiment of serenity, never once raising his voice in anger, instead choosing to spread laughter and light-heartedness as the family's beloved prankster. His sense of humor was a wellspring of comfort and delight to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Indeed, Papito was as close to perfect as one could be, touching lives with his patience and compassion.

Papito’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the enduring power of faith. His life’s work and passions have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Papito, we celebrate the remarkable journey of a man whose life was a beacon of hope and whose memory will continue to inspire for generations to come.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Nancy Sanchez and Olga I. Llanes.

Papito is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lilly Sanchez; children, Margie (Jose) Rivera of Elyria, Jaime Sanchez Jr. of Orlando, FL, Hector (Melissa) Sanchez of Orlando, FL, Evelyn (Samuel) Garcia of Elyria, Ivette (Gary) Maxwell of Elyria; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
