Judy (Melendez) Caruso

Judy Caruso (nee: Melendez), 55, of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Lorain, OH passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Nevada.

Judy was born in Bay Village, OH on April 30, 1963 to her parents, Wilfredo and Neftali (nee Rivas) Melendez.

She graduated from Admiral King High School, Class of 1980. Judy married her beloved Albert J. Caruso Jr. on January 3, 1997. She worked at Lorain Products as an Executive Administrative Assistant and she retired in 2002. At time of retirement, Judy and her family moved to Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, writing, and spending time with her family especially her daughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Adel Rivera of Nevada; mother, Neftali Melendez of Lorain; siblings, Wilfredo Melendez Jr. of North Carolina, Aida (Jeffrey) Ceh of Amherst, Vilma (Frankie) Almodovar of Lorain and Eric (Paula) Melendez of Lorain; brother-in-law, Robert Caruso; many nieces and nephews; and grand-puppies, Wallace, Blue Sam, and Ruthie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Albert J. Caruso Jr. in 2011; and her father, Wilfredo M. Melendez Sr in 2017.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:50 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Mary Church, 309 West 7th Street, Lorain, OH 44052, Rev. Richard A. Gonser, officiating.
