Mary Alice “Minnie” Sanchez

Lorain-Mary Alice “Minnie” (nee Minnich) Sanchez, 75, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

Minnie was born to her loving parents, Charles R. and Helen E. (nee Hildebrand) Minnich Sr. in Lorain, OH on July 17, 1946. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1964 and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse through St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Lorain. She was a nurse for 35 years working at St. Joseph Hospital, Amherst Hospital, Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, and Mercy Hospital. Minnieloved cooking, dancing, singing and caring for others.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Prudencio “Pupi” “Jr” Sanchez Jr.; parents, Charles and Helen Minnich Sr.’; siblings, Jeannene J. Shawver, Charles R. Minnich Jr., David R. Minnich, Michael G. Minnich, and Mark S. Minnich; daughter, Lucy Sanchez; and grandson, Francisco “Neko” Roldan.

Minnie is survived by her children, Matthew C. Sanchez, Angela Sanchez, Cynthia Martinez, and Prudencio “Glen” Sanchez; siblings, Carolyn J. Breines, Ruth E. Zocchi, Bruce F. Minnich, Daniel T. Minnich, and Paul R. Minnich; grandson, Cruz Garza;and loving step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 12:00 PM, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial services will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, OH.
