Michaela Koschutnik (nee: Adlassnig)

Avon – Michaela Koschutnik (nee: Adlassnig), 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at The Woods on French Creek in Avon, OH, under the care of Bella Hospice. She was born on September 29, 1928 in Carinthia, Austria, and moved to Lorain in 1959.

She married her late husband, Hans Koschutnik, on July 1, 1960. Michaela was a loving mother and homemaker.  She was a faithful member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, and very devoted to her faith.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren as they were growing up, and sharing her passion for her faith, homeland, birds, flowers, and kittens.  She volunteered at the Nord Center and the Red Cross, and was a member of the Lorain Liedertafel Club. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, swimming, cycling, walking, and doing crafts.

Michaela is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Basil) Rozmarynowycz;  son, Hans Koschutnik; six grandchildren, Kaileigh Koschutnik, Gregory Rozmarynowycz, Kristen (Gabe) Brunow, Angela Rozmarynowycz, Sarah (Vincent) Ministeri, and John Rozmarynowycz; beloved great-grandson Kamden Feaga; her sisters, Franziska (Adlassnig) Sirse of Elyria, Ohio and Erika (Adlassnig) Gsteu of Feldkirch-Tisis, Austria; niece, Sonja (James) Love; nephew, Frank Sirse, and several nieces and nephews in her homeland of Austria.

She was preceded in death by Hans Koschutnik, her loving husband of 51 years; parents, Simon and Juliana (nee: Strauss) Adlassnig; brother, Simon Adlassnig; and sisters, Juliana (Adlassnig) Prax, Maria (Adlassnig) Kodal, and Ursula (Adlassnig) Krenos.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, May 24, 2023 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Fr. Craig M.
