Paterson, NJ- Juan J. Ramos Figueroa, 84, of Puerto Rico, Paterson NJ and formerly of Lorain, OH, passed away on May 26, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey.

Juan was born to his loving parents, Pablo Ramos and Isabel Figueroa Ramos on May 28, 1936 in Naguabo, Puerto Rico. He married his wife Nereida Correa Valentin on June 6, 1959.

Juan was a carpenter and a Pastor of La Iglesia Los Ministros and La Iglesia de Dios Encomunión. He enjoyed reading the bible.

He is survived by his children, Raquel Ramos, Maria Ramos, Nereida Ramos, Sara Gonzalez, Juan Ramos, Samuel Ramos, Magdalena Lopez and Mara Ramos; and many loving grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nereida Correa; parents, Pablo and Isabel; and brothers, Pablo Ramos, Prudencio Ramos, Marcelino Ramos and Miguel Ramos and sister, Teresa Ramos.

We give thanks to God for giving us a father that over all thinks he loved God, a role model Dad that taught us to also love God. He never gave up, with God’s help he taught us the right path that we live today. Thank you for the love that you had for our mother, it was a great example. You will always live in our hearts. Thank you for showing us the way of life. Like Psalm 1, verse 3 says: like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither, whatever they do, prospers and today we are the fruit of that tree. We love you from the bottom of our hearts. We will always love you. You will be missed our lovely father.

Juan’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The Family will have private time from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.  Due to COVID-19, the funeral home and family will require social distancing during visitation. When you arrive to the funeral home, please remain in your vehicles at all times and allow guidance by the funeral home to ensure all safety measures, further information may be found by visiting the funeral home website. Christian burial services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at New Russia Township Cemetery in Oberlin, OH, Rev. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS BY RSG FUNERAL HOME:

Juan’s family would like to welcome to family and friends the opportunity to view Juan and to offer your final farewell. Due to current COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, limited family members will gather privately inside the funeral home. All other family and friends are asked to gather at the funeral home between the set hours. Please allow the funeral home attendant the opportunity to offer you a parking space when you arrive into the parking lot and please REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLES AT ALL TIMES. The funeral home staff will offer one vehicle at a time, the opportunity to exit your vehicles and to proceed into the funeral home to view Juan in the funeral home, you will enter into Juan’s parlor (no more than 6 guests at a time) and to offer sympathies to the family members who are present inside the funeral home with Juan. The family will remain in their own separate parlors. Once you have had a few minutes to offer your respects, the funeral home staff will ask you to return to your vehicles to allow others the same opportunity. Once you have arrived to your vehicle, please take the time you need to gather yourself and make sure everything is safe and we will ask you to exit the parking lot. The funeral home staff will be offering social distancing and we must insist the same courtesy of all family and friends to do the same. The funeral home highly encourages all family, friends, neighbors and guests to wear masks during your visit inside the funeral home and during services at the cemetery services. Also, please allow guidance from the cemetery staff and the funeral home on Wednesday at the cemetery services.
