Patricia Ann “Patsy” Sklarek

Lorain - Patricia Ann “Patsy” Sklarek, 81, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 after a year long battle of cancer at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, OH.

Patsy was born on December 14, 1941 to her loving parents, Joseph and Ann (nee Letizia) Beko in Lorain, OH where she was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1960. After graduation she married the love of her life, John F. Sklarek Sr., on August 27, 1960. She worked for Aramark in Lorain City Schools as a cafeteria manager for 31 years. She was a volunteer for the front desk at Mercy Hospital, the thrift shop for mercy hospital, and was the secretary auxiliary for women at mercy hospital. She was a member of St. Peter Parish where she was very active in church luncheons and festivals, St. Francis Mission Group, and the Amherst Eagles Fraternal order of the Eagles. Patsy enjoyed crafts such as crocheting and ceramics, reading books, working in her yard, and enjoying time at her cottage at Zellers Beach for 43 years.

She was preceded in death by her soulmate, John Sklarek Sr. in 2015; and her parents, Joseph and Ann Beko.

She was survived by her children, John (Christine) of Vermilion, Michael (Kathleen) of Lorain, and Mark (Christine) of Lorain; grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Anthony (Lindsay), Adam, Matthew, Amanda, McKenzi (Andrew), and Shane; great grandchildren, David, Zoey, Emma, Ellie, and Hailey; brother, Daniel (Alora) Beko of Columbus, OH; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating.
