Robert F. “Bob” Kritz

Robert F. “Bob” Kritz, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Life Care Center of Estero in Estero, FL.

Bob was born in Lorain, OH on October 22, 1936 to his loving parents, Walter and Margaret (nee Akosi) Kritz where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy Class of 1956. He was the owner/operator at Kritz Aluminum for 12 years while working at U.S. Steel as a supervisor for 24 years. He then went on with Lorain County as a supervisor until his retirement in 1987. Bob was a member of St. Peter Parish for 2 years before marriage to the love of his life, Josephine T. (nee: Ciriaco) Kritz, on  October 26, 1957 where they both remained members and he was a lifetime member of the American Slovak Club. Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing poker, traveling, and bowling where he was the president of the St. Anthony Bowling League for 10 years. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Josephine Kritz; and his parents, Walter and Margaret Kritz; and sister, Dolores Tammaro.

He is survived by his children, Robert J. “Bob”, Deborah, and Jeffery; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, and sister-in-laws.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 8:50 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Private Christian burial services will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
