Robert “Bob” Theodore Halas

Robert “Bob” Theodore Halas, 83, of Sheffield Village, OH, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

He was born to his loving parents, Frank Theodore and Helen Marie (nee Mucha) Halas in Cleveland, OH on June 25, 1938.

Bob graduated from West Tech High School, Class of 1956. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country from August 16, 1956 until his honorable discharge on August 1, 1960. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake, OH as a maintenance electrician for 38 years. Robert was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain, OH. He loved fishing, following the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes and most of all, he cherished time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth (nee Clark) Halas; sons, Ron, Ray Sr. (Christine), Robert (Connie), and Mark (Shelley) Halas; daughters, Kimberly (David) Johnston, Sherry Price, Michele (Jonathon) Calkins and Lisa Criswell; brother, George Halas; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and loving family.

Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret “Sue” Halas; parents, Frank and Helen Halas; brother, Mike Halas; and sister, Audrey Cyran.

The family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, (440) 244-1961 on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00PM at First Lutheran Church, 1019 W. Fifth St, Lorain, OH 44052, Pastor Rosy Rivera, officiating (meet at Church on Tuesday). Private Christian burial services will be held at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, OH with military honors. Memorial donations may be made at the funeral home.
