Robert "Bob" Post, died on December 12, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 89. Born on June 18, 1934, in Lorain, Ohio to William Post and Bertha Egry. Bob's journey was one marked by commitment, and the deep love he had for his family, friends and community.
Bob graduated from Clearview High School in 1952. He worked his way through Ohio University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering in 1956.
In his professional life, Bob was not just an architect/engineer. He built more than just structures—he built communities. As a business owner, his influence and craftsmanship were evident in every project undertaken by Post and Stana, Post and Associates, and Clark and Post. His integrity in design were matched only by his commitment to service, as evidenced by his long-standing involvement with the Sheffield Lions Club, where he led as past president, and his membership in the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, where he also served as past president along with being a board member with Easter Seals.
Bob was a constant presence at Clearview High School events, being a member of the “chain gang” for over 25 years and rooting for the Clippers. He was a long time board member of the Clearview Educational Foundation, keeping a vigilant eye on the finances. One of the attributes to Bob’s legacy was the redesign and reconstruction of all three buildings that comprise the Clearview School System in 2000. He treated this project as if it were his own home.
For Bob, golf was more than a hobby; he made many memories with friends and relished the beauty of countless golf courses.
His passion for life was paralleled by his love for his family. Bob's priority was always the happiness and well-being of his loved ones. He was a mentor, a role model, and a source of unwavering support. His presence was a comfort, his advice a treasure, and his encouragement greatly appreciated.
In honor of Bob, let us all aspire to carry forward his spirit of generosity, his enthusiasm for life, and his unwavering commitment to excellence. While the architect of our community may have laid down his tools, the structures he built and the lives he touched stand testament to a life well lived.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Susan Wollerman Post; sons, Michael (Deborah), James, and Lawrence (Cheryl); loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Roberts, and his father, William Post.
Bob’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with words of remembrance service at 6:00 PM.
