Ronald J. Scott, 73, of Amherst, OH, formerly of Lorain, OH, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

Ronald was born in Amherst, OH on February 3, 1948. He attended Admiral King High School with the Class of 1966 prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1965, serving during Vietnam and he was honorably discharged in 1968, having completed his GED with the Army. Ronald married his love, Rae Ann (nee Stanziano) Scott on June 12, 1971. He worked at U.S. Steel in Lorain, OH for 31 years where his last years were spent in the Blast Furnace. Ronald was a Life Member of AMVETS Post 47. He enjoyed antique vehicles and spending time outdoors, house boating and camping. His love and passion in life was spending time with family and friends. He was the best husband, dad and papa.  

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rae Ann Scott; children, Robert (Tressie) and Adam (Jessica) Scott; daughter-in-law, Alexana “Ali” Scott; grandchildren, Elyssa, Alexis, Grace, Jacob, Gavin, Sofia, Lucas and Wyatt; brothers, Kenneth (Sue) and Randolph (Tammy) Scott; sister, Audrey (Edwin) Irizarry; and many loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward “Eddie” Scott on 8-16-2021; parents, Elden and Mary (nee Stawicki) Scott; and sisters, Shelia Griffith and Barbara Carroll.

Ronald’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, (440) 244-1961 on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
