Rose M. Berens
Sandusky- Rose Mary Berens (nee Beyer), 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Providence Care Center in Sandusky, OH.
Rose was born to her loving parents, Henry and Maria (Kuntel) on August 5, 1932 in Lorain, OH.
She was a graduate of Lorain High School. Following high school, Rose worked as a secretary in the finance investment business. She married her beloved, Bernard Berens and they raised their loving sons, Jim and Jerry together. As a loving, caring and devoted wife and mother, Rose made it her full time job at home to take care of her family. She was the most amazing cook and she adored the family pet dogs. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rose loved attending Church services and greatly enjoyed and looked forward to spending time with her family and friends at Church. Rose loved being around people. She was a great listener and talker and she always welcomed conversation and meeting new people while staying close to family. Rose cherished her time with her family. She enjoyed listening to music, spending time outdoors, tending to her garden and getting her five mile walk in at the Norwalk Rec Center while catching up with friends. She had fond memories of times with her beloved husband, Bernard on Lake Erie.
She is survived by her son, Gerald “Jerry” Berens; grandchildren, Angela (Andy) Cresap and Jennifer (Adam) Bilczo; great-grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, and Andy Bilczo; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Berens; son, James “Jim” (Paula) Berens; parents, Henry and Maria Beyer; sisters, Emily, Gertrude, Holly, and Betsy; and brother, Art.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052, on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4:00 PM until the time of funeral services at 5:30 PM, with Pastor Jerry Rogers, officiating. Christian burial services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Rd. Amherst, OH, 44001 (meet at cemetery main entrance on Saturday).
