Rose M. Dellisanti
Amherst - Rose M. Dellisanti (nee Skolnicki), 104, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Avon Oaks Assisted Living with loving family and friends by her side.
Rose was born to her loving parents, John and Tacyanna “Stella” (nee Wozniak) Skolnicki on March 1, 1919 in Lorain, OH.
Rose was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1936. She worked as a stenographer in Washington D.C. during WWII. She moved back to Lorain in the 1940s and served as a legal secretary for Attorney Joseph Ujhelyi for 43 years. Rose married the love of her life, Dominick A. Dellisanti on August 6, 1960. She was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, active with the Democratic party, and a member of Knights of Columbus, IAV and Czarnicki Club. She enjoyed traveling, music, Cleveland sports and shopping and lunches with her sisters, Virginia and Helen.
She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Dominick A. Dellisanti; parents, John and Stella Skolnicki; 2 sisters, Virginia “Vern” Armelie and Helen Szalay; and 5 brothers, Joseph Walter, Edward, Bruno “Bumpy”, and John “Yash”, Skolnicki.
The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Avon Oaks who loved and cared for Rose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, OH 44053. Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor will be officiating with interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rose’s loving memory to St. Peter Parish, Lorain.
