The Reverend Albert Krupp Obituary

Rev. Albert A. Krupp died Tuesday, 24 December 2019, after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.

 

Albert Aloysius Krupp was born on 22 December 1939. His parents were the late Gerald J. Krupp and Blanche Krupp (nee Dorrell). He was educated at St. Mary Elementary, Lorain, Borromeo Seminary, Wickliffe and St. Mary Seminary, Cleveland. On 22 May 1965 in the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, Bishop Clarence G. Issemann ordained him to the priesthood for the service of the Diocese of Cleveland.

 

On 10 June 1965, Fr. Krupp was assigned to St. Angela Merici, Fairview Park. He was transferred on 27 August 1968 to serve as Spiritual Director at the Pontifical College of the Josephinum Seminary in Worthington Ohio. 1 August 1980 he returned to Cleveland and assigned as Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph, Strongsville.  On 5 November 1980 he was assigned Vicar Coadjutor with the right of succession to St. Martin of Tours, Maple Hts., On 9 March 1981 he was appointed Pastor of St. Martin of Tours, Maple Hts. He resigned his pastorate on 11 November 1992 to serve on the Cleveland Latin American Mission Team in El Salvador.  He returned to the diocese to receive an appointment as Pastor of St. Agnes, Elyria on 6 November 2000.  On 15 September 2010, he was appointed Delegate for Senior Priest.  He received permission to retire from active ministry on 31 December 2014 with residence at St. Raphael, Bay Village. For the past three years, he has been in residence at Regina Health Center. Fr. Krupp was a priest’s priest. His love for people, especially the poor and marginalized, his humor and great smile and faithful priestly witness touched the lives of many.  He will be greatly missed.

 

He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Rita) Krupp; sister, Rose (Tom) Heinrich; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Blanch Krupp; brothers, Dr. Neal (Babeth-living) Krupp and Dr. Deacon Ralph (Bernice) Krupp; sisters, Patricia (Steve-living) Chozinski and Martha (Ed-living) Kimball.

 

The wake will begin on Sunday, 29 December 2019 in St. Peter Church, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH at 3:00 pm with Vespers and will continue until 7:30 pm. Fr. Don Oleksiak will preside and Fr. Mike Williamson will be the homilist. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 30 December 2019 in St. Peter Church, Lorain at 11:00 am Bishop Marty Amos will be the main celebrant and Father Bill Thaden will be the homilist.
