Theresa R. Maxwell
Lorain-Theresa R. Maxwell, 73, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital.
She was born to her loving parents, Francis A. and Helen C. (nee Malachosky) Miksa, on September 1, 1949 in Monongahelia, PA. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lorain, OH where she was a longtime resident. Theresa married the love of her life, Gary Maxwell, on June 21, 1969. She had several jobs working at the BFG Credit Union, as office manager at RWL Architects, eventually retiring from DFAS as an accounting specialist. Theresa was a very spiritual woman who was a devoted member of many prayer groups and the St. Agnes Women’s Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Prior to her illness she was an avid fan at many of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also loved the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeye’s. She especially loved her time while vacationing at the beach with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Helen Miksa; infant siblings, Mary and Joseph; and nephew, Brett McPhie.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Gary Maxwell; children, Eric (Holly) Maxwell, Melissa (Jonathan) Pyc, Christine Maxwell and boyfriend J.L. Davison, and Gary (Ivette) Maxwell Jr.; 12 grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, Alyssa, Hannah, Alivia, Nathan, Chase, Aliyah, Payton, Adison, Josh, and Corey; and great-grandchildren, Mariana and Carsyn.
Theresa’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH on Thursday, October 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:20 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 W 7th St., Lorain, OH on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Fr. Daniel O.
