Virginia L. (nee DiPasquale) Moody

Amherst – Virginia “Ginny” (nee DiPasquale), 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain, OH.

She was born on March 7, 1930 in Lorain, OH, graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1948B, and was a long-time resident of Amherst.

Virginia was employed as a supervisor for the S.S. Kresge Company following high school before marrying Theodore Moody on March 2, 1957. She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted wife and homemaker. Her interests included doing puzzles, playing cards, weekend road trips, and antiquing. She enjoyed baking and loved sharing her Italian cookies, brownies, and gelatin molds with her family and friends.

Virginia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst where she was involved heavily in prayer.

She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Diane (David) Karolak, Steven (Lisa) DiFrancesco, Debra (James) Miadock, Kathleen (Michael) Zichi, Maria (Alan) Szarek, Michael Berni, John (Sindie) Harcula, Katherine (Beth) Harcula, Susan (Mark) Boyle, Nancy (Paul) Wise, David (Gail) Schumaker; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Theodore Moody; parents, Emil and Adeline (nee Amato) DiPasquale; sisters, Ida Berni, Mary Lou (John) Harcula, Margaret (Angelo “Marino”) DiFrancesco, Viola (Arthur “Steve”) DiFrancesco; her nephew, Kenneth DiFrancesco; and great-nephew, Anthony “Tony” DiFrancesco.

Virginia’s family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, (440)244-1961 on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM with Father Craig M. Hovanec pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
