Wilbert Lee Hayes

Wilbert “Will” Hayes, 76, of Elyria, beloved husband, dad, grandpa and papa, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

Wilbert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Inara (nee Townsend); son, Steve; daughter, Julie Hayes (Jeremy Klepek); grandchildren, Ashley Hayes (Michael Brigadier), Steven Hayes, Madison Klepek; great granddaughter, Emma Brigadier; sisters, Evelyn Glover and Mabel Phillips (Jerry); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Dollie Hayes; and brothers, Russell, Kenneth, Carly and Leroy.

Will was born in Mannington, WV on May 8, 1942 and came to Ohio as a young boy. He was a resident of Elyria since 1966 after marrying the love of his life.

Wilbert loved spending time with his family, especially his 2 youngest granddaughters, Emma and Madison. He enjoyed golfing, taking walks through his neighborhood and Tuesday breakfast with lifelong friends from The Ford Motor Company where he worked and retired from after 32 years in 2000. Will also enjoyed watching Ohio State football, the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers with family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052.
