William “Bill” N. Meszaros,81, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake, Ohio. Born on August 18, 1942, to his loving parents, Elmer W. and Mildred E. (nee Gregory) Meszaros in Cleveland, Ohio.
A proud graduate of West Tech High School in 1961, Bill's dedication to his studies and his passion for learning was evident from a young age. His educational journey laid the foundation for a successful career as a maintenance engineer, where he dedicated 26 years of service to Dillard's. His work was not just a job but a testament to his meticulous nature and commitment to excellence.
He served in the United States Army from 1964 until he was honorably discharged in 1967. In 1978 he moved to Lorain, OH and he married the love of his life, Barbara J. (nee Jeffrey) Meszaros, on May 20.
Bill's interests were as varied as they were deep. A gifted photographer, he possessed the rare ability to capture moments of beauty in the everyday, turning the mundane into the extraordinary with a click of his camera. His passion for railroads and trains was not just a hobby but a lifelong enthusiasm that saw him become a well-known figure among fellow railroad enthusiasts.
Woodworking was another of Bill's talents, with a particular talent for crafting clocks and wood planes. His creations were not only functional but also works of art, each piece reflecting the care, skill, and love he poured into them. Bill's clocks were more than timekeepers; they were heirlooms, cherished by all who had the pleasure to receive them.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mildred Meszaros.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Meszaros; brother, Richard Meszaros; sister-in-law, Janice Jeffrey; brother-in-law, James (Carol) Jeffrey; and loving nieces and nephews.
